    Senior Product Safety Engineer

    DataPath is currently recruiting for a Senior Product Safety Engineer to join our team in Duluth, Georgia. This engineer will eliminate and/or control hazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment and machine operations that may lead to human injury and/or property damage.

    This role must apply advanced mathematical techniques; professional engineering principles, methods and techniques; safety-related elements of the physical sciences, ergonomics, psychology and physiology; and safety principles, standards, practices and analytical technique to ensure employee safety at all times.


    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Assist in identification, analysis, and control of occupational hazards requiring the application of professional engineering knowledge, skill and abilities
    • Produce designs showing potential problems and remedies for them
    • Observe and learn how operations function so that they can identify risks to people and property. This type of observation and learning requires the ability to think in terms of overall processes within an organization.
    • Identify potential hazards and problems before they cause material damage or become a health threat to people and property
    • Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery, and safety equipment
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of various industrial control mechanisms
    • Ensure that a building or product complies with health and safety regulations, especially after an inspection that required changes
    • Review plans and specifications for new machinery and equipment to make sure they meet safety requirements
    • Install safety devices on machinery or direct the installation of these devices
    • Review employee safety programs and recommend improvements
    • Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes as well as train and engage staff in safety practices


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of safety engineer experience.
    • Knowledge of satellite communications-related products, technologies, and manufacturing preferred
    • Must be able to interpret federal and state regulations and understand the regulation.
    • Unparalleled desire to help the internal and external customers and deliver service excellence.
    • Passion to design and maintain healthy and safe working and manufacturing environments
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision, being self-driven with a desire to add value to an energetic team.
    • Problem-solving ability while reacting to changing situations and championing issues to resolution.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    • Certifications such as ROHS or UL 60950
    • Experience as a Primary Engineer Producing Hazard Analysis for moving Electrical Machinery

    Work Environment: 
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. 

    Physical Demands:
    The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Supervisory Responsibility:
    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    May require occasional travel.
