    DataPath, Inc. is seeking a Customer Service Engineer to conduct work OCONUS. This position is a FLOAT position. A FLOAT is a person that goes where he/she is needed most. There is no set location for this position. Possible extensive travel via commercial and military means is required.


    • Ensure the maintenance, operation, and performance of Ka-Band Fixed Terminals.
    • Assume the on-site leadership role with customer satisfaction as the primary goal.
    • Maintain satellite communication system availability above acceptable levels;
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any identified circuit or equipment outages or degradation;
    • Provide interim reports as necessary, based on particular site conditions and/or problems;
    • Maintain the site (including electronics and office) in professional and clean manner;
    • Perform the on-site duties which enable DataPath to successfully implement contractual duties relative to mobile terminal operation and maintenance.


    • US citizenship is required.
    • Applicant must have a US Department of Defense (DoD) TOP Secret security clearance.
    • Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline, or in the absence of a bachelor's degree, 6 years of related experience.
    • Requires a valid U.S. driver’s license.
    • Requires a valid U.S. Passport
    • Successful completion of CONUS Readiness Center (CRC) required.
    • Strategic or tactical multi-channel satellite communications experience.
    • Strong grasp of satellite communications operational theory.
    • Ability to routinely lift and carry items up to 70 pounds.
    • Must be hands-on person with the knowledge to operate and configure the following equipment to include Antenna controller, drive systems, satellite acquisition, HPA/TWT high power amplifiers, LNA/LNB low noise amplifiers, Fiber/Coax/Ethernet Cable Work, FDMA/TDMA modems (satellite modems), Up-converters and down-converters
    • Test equipment: power meter, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, and digital multi-meter
    • RF/IF cable building and repair
    • Electrical AC/DC power troubleshooting
    • De-Ice systems
    • Dehydration systems
    • Waveguide and switched – circular and linear polarization
    • GPS systems

    Preferred Experience working with:

    • Cisco routers
    • ViaSat Linkway Modems
    • PBX - T1/E1, FXS, Adds/Drops
