    Summary/Objective

    • The HR Generalist executes HR practices to support and improve the daily operations of the Company.  Proactively communicates matters to the Director, Human Resources that may have an impact of the HR department and the team members’ areas of responsibility in support of the workforce, as well as drive forward the integration of organizational values into work practices        

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions

    • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with employees and management.
    • Manages employee relations issues by partnering with team leaders and managers to coach, train, correct, and separate employees.
    • Institute best practices for employee retention and satisfaction by researching effective strategies and developing policies and programs to promote positive employee morale.        
    • Mediate resolution of employee conflicts and grievances, conducts internal investigations, and recommends a course of action to help supervisors and employees resolve issues.  
    • Supervise and coordinate activities of onboarding and offboarding services, including customer support and benefits administration.
    • Serves as a business partner to all units within the organization to determine bottlenecks, stress points, and other barriers to success and facilitate resolution. 
    • Develop processes and systems to streamline administrative functions so that most energy is directed at addressing the issues that impact our business          
    • Create and generate scheduled HRIS reports and perform regular audits of HRIS data, electronic files and physical files to analyze data, ensure compliance and accuracy, and to establish and maintain security and integrity controls. 
    • Ensure management of personnel records in accordance with applicable records management and record retention programs.   
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge in all job-related areas.
    • Oversees the performance management and employee appraisal process for the managers/team leaders and employees 
    • Develops, tracks and presents key measurement reports and data, as requested.  
    • Provides assistance to managers and employees with time-sensitive requests, such as reports, HRIS system navigation, etc.
    • Act as customer advocate by researching and resolving complex customer concerns in an accurate and timely manner. May involve working closely with Managers or SLT members on escalated customer issues.
    • Work collaboratively with Field Managers on all field service employee related issues, HR processes and policies, Personnel Action Request processes, and onboarding. 
    • Plan, schedule and implement annual employee training for employees, team leaders, and managers on Human Resources related topics. 
    • Coach and counsel employees regarding HR policies and procedures.
    • Facilitate day-to-day operational aspects of HR projects.  Manage specific projects and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives. 
    • Provide to HR Vice President and managers detailed reporting on salaries, headcount and other business issues relating to the HR function.
    • Audit, reconcile and update monthly benefits invoices by comparing invoices to HR reports to manager status, e.g., hires, terminations, eligibility, leave status, etc..  
    • Assist with annual open enrollment process, including communicating changes to employees and answering questions.
    • Coordinate wellness activities to include annual health risk assessment processes.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    Minimum

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other business-related field required.
    • Minimum 5 years comprehensive HR Generalist experience in a fast-paced office environment.
    • Strong working knowledge of local, state and federal employment law.
    • Experience with ADP HRIS systems required (ADP Workforce Now highly preferred).
    • Knowledge of HR core competencies including, but not limited to, recruiting, benefits, compensation, technology, training, and organizational development.
    • Ability to multi-task with strong organizational and analytical skills required.  Capable of maintaining a high level of performance in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
    • Acute attention to detail as well as a high level of motivation. Willing to take ownership of assigned tasks and complete them under tight deadlines.
    • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.  Tactful with the ability to influence others. Entrepreneurial and flexible attitude.

    Preferred

    • PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR certification.
    • Experience with government contracts and/or employment with government contractor.
    • Experience in Satellite or Telecommunications industry.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial company and with M&As.
